Security logs. Like any server, ours records technical data for each request, for example the IP address, the page requested (without its parameters), the date, the result and the type of browser, in order to detect intrusions and abuse. These logs are based on our legitimate interest in securing the service (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR) and are not used for audience measurement. They are deleted on a rolling basis, in practice after about a week, depending on traffic. Addresses that trigger a security alert, and the requests concerned, are kept for up to 90 days; the addresses are reported to the reputation network of our intrusion detection tool, CrowdSec (a French company).
What we collect.
Audience measurement on this site is provided by Matomo, hosted by us and configured without any cookies: it cannot recognise you from one visit to the next.
This site also uses the tracking code of our CRM management tool. This tool sets cookies which, for their part, can recognise a visitor from one visit to the next and link their browsing to a contact request or a booked meeting. This use is strictly professional: it serves to understand the needs of the organisations that contact us, and to respond to them. No advertising tracker is used, and your data is neither sold nor transferred to third parties for advertising purposes.
You can refuse these cookies at any time in your browser settings, or by enabling the “do not track” option. Browsing the pages does not require any registration.
The data you send us voluntarily, through the contact form or when booking a meeting, is used solely to respond to your request and to provide the resulting commercial follow-up. It is neither sold nor transferred to third parties for advertising purposes.
Meetings are booked through an external scheduling service, which applies its own privacy policy when you book a slot.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, erase and object to the data concerning you. To exercise these rights, write to us from the contact page.
NextWaste Veille IA (email watch).
When you subscribe to NextWaste Veille IA, our weekly watch, from the subscription page (in French), NextWaste processes your data under the following conditions. NextWaste Veille IA is written in French.
- Purpose: sending NextWaste Veille IA by email, every Monday.
- Legal basis: your consent, within the meaning of Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation. It is obtained by double opt-in: the subscription only becomes active after you click the link in the confirmation email.
- Data processed: your email address and, if you provide them, your first name, last name and organisation; the text of the consent box you ticked, the date of your request and the address of the subscription page; the IP address of your connection and technical data from your browser, used for the form’s bot protection check.
- Recipients and processors: your data is intended for NextWaste. The list of subscribers is kept by NextWaste’s automation tool, on our server hosted in France by OVH. Once your subscription is confirmed, your data is also recorded in our CRM management tool. Emails are sent by Mailgun, from the European Union. The form’s bot protection check is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives your IP address and technical data from your browser for this purpose.
- Transfers outside the European Union: our CRM management provider, Mailgun and Cloudflare are companies established in the United States. Your data may therefore be transferred outside the European Union, under the safeguards provided for by the General Data Protection Regulation.
- Retention period: after you unsubscribe, your first name, last name and organisation are deleted from the list of subscribers; your address remains on it, marked “unsubscribed”, so that we no longer write to you. In our CRM management tool, your record is kept, marked as unsubscribed, with no time limit, until you request its erasure. To obtain erasure, write to us from the contact page.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure and objection, as well as the withdrawal of your consent at any time. Each email contains an unsubscribe link. To exercise your other rights, write to us from the contact page. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
Audience measurement of the NextWaste Veille IA newsletter
The links to the articles cited in the weekly NextWaste Veille IA newsletter go through a nextwaste.fr redirect address (https://www.nextwaste.fr/r/…), which takes you straight to the article. We use it for one thing only: to know how many times each link in each edition has been opened, so that we can choose the topics that interest our readers.
- Aggregated counting, never individual. We count clicks per link and per edition. A click is never linked to your email address, your name or your subscription: the link is the same for all recipients.
- No open-tracking pixel. We do not measure whether emails are opened, and our sending provider’s click and open tracking is disabled.
- A 24-hour technical fingerprint. To avoid counting the same click twice, a fingerprint is calculated from the IP address, the browser and the link, with a key drawn at random each day. On its own, it does not make it possible to recover the IP address, which this measurement never keeps (only the security logs described above keep it, for a limited period); the fingerprint is deleted after 24 hours, and the day’s key no later than two days afterwards. Visits by bots (spam filters, link previews) are excluded from the count.
- Retention. Click counts are kept for 12 months, then deleted.
- Legal basis. Our legitimate interest in measuring, in aggregate form, the audience of the newsletter you requested (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
- Your rights. As this counting keeps no data concerning you, there is nothing to consult or erase in your name. You may nevertheless object to it or ask any question at our contact address. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, using the link in each email.
Actualités NextWaste (newsletter).
When you sign up for the Actualités NextWaste newsletter from our sign-up page (in French), or by ticking its box on the NextWaste Veille IA page, NextWaste processes your data under the following conditions. Actualités NextWaste is written in French.
- Purpose: sending the Actualités NextWaste newsletter by email: our publications, our projects and our events.
- Legal basis: your consent, within the meaning of Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation, given by ticking the dedicated box, which is never pre-ticked. It is obtained by double opt-in: the sign-up only becomes active after you click the link in the confirmation email. It is separate from the consent for NextWaste Veille IA: each subscription has its own box, its own text and its own proof.
- Data processed: your email address, your first and last names, and your company if you provide it; the text of the box you ticked, the date of your request and of its confirmation, the address of the sign-up page and the result of the bot protection check; the IP address of your connection and technical data from your browser, used for this check.
- Recipients and processors: your data is intended for NextWaste. The request is processed by NextWaste’s automation tool, on our server hosted in France by OVH. Once your sign-up is confirmed, your data is recorded in our CRM management tool, which keeps the list of subscribers; your first name, last name and company are then deleted from the automation tool, which keeps only your address and the proof of your consent. The confirmation and welcome emails are sent by Mailgun, from the European Union. The bot protection check is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile.
- Transfers outside the European Union: our CRM management provider, Mailgun and Cloudflare are companies established in the United States. Your data may therefore be transferred outside the European Union, under the safeguards provided for by the General Data Protection Regulation.
- Retention period: for as long as you remain subscribed. After you unsubscribe, your record is kept in our CRM management tool, marked as unsubscribed, so that we no longer write to you, until you request its erasure. A request that is never confirmed is never passed on to our CRM management tool; it is deleted from the automation tool 30 days after it was sent.
- Your rights: access, rectification, erasure and objection, as well as the withdrawal of your consent at any time. Each newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link, as does the welcome email. To exercise your other rights, write to us from the contact page. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.
